Playing Catch Up

I must first apologize for the gap in posts.  Maybe I should not so blatantly point it out, but it’s just so obvious.  I started a new season in my life in late August.  Photography remains my passion, however it became necessary for me to take on a “day job”.  I had subbed all of last year (2012-2013) at one of the local elementary schools here in my sleepy little beach town of Rockport, Texas.  One thing led to another and I took a full time computer lab assistant position this school year (2013-2014).  I love the people I work with and that I have the same time off as our three kids.  However, as evidenced by this blog a few things have taken a back seat as I have worked to figure this busy life out.  I’m on Christmas break and hoping to play catch up and then try to keep up as I go.  Several of the shoots from November and December I waited to share as they were Christmas photos and I like to make sure Christmas cards are sent, etc. before I post. I will be changing a few of my policies this year to help me try and keep some balance.  I will  post those changes soon.  I hope you have had a wonderful 2013 and that 2014 will be even better.  If I may serve you as your photographer this year, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 361-444-3404 or via email at tharrisphoto@gmail.com.

Happy New Year,

My Family

Young Love {Couple Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

Oh to be young and in love! This is  Mr “L” and Miss “S” who met their Freshman year in high school and they both just graduated this year! They are so cute together and  each time I asked them to look at each other they would start laughing. We did capture some sweet moments and I really enjoyed being able to follow up with a second photo shoot to include their knock-out looks for prom and then cap and gown.  Congrats to the two of you!!

Summer Evening at the Park {Family/Child Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

There is nothing quite like taking a walk in a lovely park on a beautiful summer evening.  We are blessed to have such a place right here in Rockport, Texas.  Our park provided the perfect backdrop for this family of three recently.  We walked around and found some neat little spots and got lots of smiles (with a little bit of work).  All in all we had a great session.

The “B” Family {Family/Child Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

I enjoyed meeting and working with this sweet young family.  They received a gift certificate for Christmas and used it a few weeks ago.  (Yes I do gift certificates!) There is a small park here in town that I have wanted to use many times, however the wind is usually just too bad.  We planned our day and time and I decided this was the session to use the park.  It was perfect.  The area is so beautiful and then add the beautiful family!  Meeting sweet little J and seeing the way his parents absolutely adore him and the way he absolutely loves them-these are priceless moments and memories.

An Evening at the Beach {Family Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

I enjoyed my third beach shoot of the summer photographing a family vacationing in Port Aransas.  I love capturing fun, happy times for people.  The light, the breeze, the beach, and the family made this session so easy!  I love that I live in an area as beautiful and wonderful as this! And I am so glad people love visiting such an amazing place and capturing their memories.

Sisters at the Beach {Child/Family Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

This summer seems to be flying by so quickly, I feel that each year is going by faster than the previous one.  It has been a great summer, including a few photo sessions at the beach.  Having only lived in Rockport, TX for almost three years, I am still exploring and discovery new locations all of the time-the beach included.  After really looking around every inch of our beach a few months ago I found a beautiful area that worked just perfectly for my first beach session of the summer.  I enjoyed photographing two young sisters as they explored, ran through water and found treasures.

Baby Love {Newborn, Family Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

If I have not mentioned it before-I love my job as a photographer.  I meet so many neat people, discover so many neat places, and capture special times in people’s lives!!  In May I had the opportunity to meet and photograph sweet Baby “C”.  I had photographed her beautiful momma for her announcement/gender reveal and also her regular maternity session. To finally meet their sweet little bundle of joy was amazing. Not only is Baby “C” gorgeous but her room is like magazine material.  Her mommy is one very talented and creative lady. Baby “C” didn’t make a peep the entire hour and a half I was there.  I am so thankful I was trusted with capturing her at such a tender age.

The Lovely Miss T {Senior Photography~Rockport, Texas area}

Miss T was a delight to work with.  She was very quiet but possessed  a wonderful confidence.  We enjoyed beautiful weather and an overall great photo session.  I wish her all the best as she begins a new chapter.  Here is the lovely Miss T.
