I enjoyed spending time with the R family right before Thanksgiving.  Together we explored the beautiful area known as Pearl Brewery, here in San Antonio.  The rain held off and the lighting was perfect.  When I am with my clients, I want them to feel relaxed and enjoy themselves so that when they look back on the images, they can remember having a good time.  This family was very relaxed and pleasant and it was a bonus that their four children were so polite.  We covered a large area during the shoot and encountered lots of people, a couple of weddings and beautiful scenery.  There were even two back-to-back surprise proposals right before we started.   Here are just a few I captured of the R family.

The heat of the summer will eventually give way to comfortable Fall evenings.  Fall is a perfect time to schedule a family session to update your family photos and even get a head-start on Christmas cards.  I, myself, must admit that it had been almost 5 years since my own family had professional family photos done.  I scheduled ours for a summer night and I am so glad that I did.  The weather was a bit warm, but bearable and the lighting was perfect.  Planning our clothes was the only thing that caused me a little stress.    The best part of all was that we were still  happy when it was over and all of us were glad that we did it.  We even celebrated by eating out afterwards.

Having pictures taken does take some mental preparation, clothing coordination, rallying of the troops, but to look at those pictures and see your beautiful children, your amazing spouse.  To freeze that moment in time-I cannot encourage it enough.  And I would even go so far as to say-GET PRINTS!!!!  Hang your family on your wall.  Order family prints for your own kiddos to have and don’t forget about the doting grandparents that want those pictures in print, not in an email that they may or may not even know how to open…..

Recently, I had the privilege of capturing the radiance of a beautiful momma, pregnant with twin boys.  We chose the Pearl area as our backdrop and enjoyed the amazing lighting and varied scenery. Dad and big brother joined in the fun as well.  The anticipation of two baby boys is exciting and I am thankful to have been able to work with this fantastic family.  Enjoy a few shots from the evening.
